I Need A Vaction... A Holiday In The Sun Day 1

So for our family vacation this summer we decided to go visit South Dakota since it was 8 1/2 hrs away. Well the first day we drove to Hot Springs,SD. We checked into our hotel and relaxed awhile. Then we went and visited the Mammoth Site. It was cool seeing the mammoth bones and thinking how they once walked the land. Then we went and picked up some dinner and went swimming. But it was an outdoor pool that was cold so we didnt last to long. Then we went on a walk on this pathway that ran along a stream.

The 4th of July Weekend

So on the evening July 4th we spent with Dan's brother Chris and his family. Then the next day we went to the South Platte River and went gold panning. We all had fun eating lunch and playing in the water.

Happy 1st Birthday Miss Lilyanne

Wow where has the time go. My baby turned one on May 3rd. We had her birthday party on the first lots of friends and family were able to make it for the party. We had a bbq. She was tired and took a half an hour nap the day of her party. But she was a trooper and stayed awake the whole time. She wore her first birthday onesie but refused to wear her tutu. She enjoyed hanging out with her friends and being held my family and friends. She wasnt that big of a fan of cake. She got alot of fun stuff mega blocks,bath toys,an outfit,hairbows, and snacks from Grandma and Grandpa Stevens.

Lilyanne had her 1 Year Well Child Check on May 5th. She weighed 16lbs 8oz and is 28 inches tall. The doctor says she is small and needs to gain some weight. So we are working on that. She still naps twice a day one two hour nap around 11 and an hour nap at 4. Lilyanne loves eating cheerios. She enjoys playing with her toys and not toys and says "ball." She rolls to get places. She spins around on her butt. She likes walking holding on to our hands. She loves getting out of the house. Lilyanne loves to be held.

Christmas Recap

So my brother Casey came from Montana to visit. We spent time playing games and we even went to the mall. I really enjoyed seeing him. Christmas Eve we enjoyed a Chili dinner at my parents house. Christmas day we went over to the inlaws to watch the kids open presents. I hand out the presents and Dan takes pictures. Lilyanne recieved a cloth book. I recieved Pink Perfume from my sister inlaw Michelle and my secret person Dans parents gave me money so Dan and I could go on a date. Dan recieved an electric blanket from his secret person which was Tim. Then we headed home and opened up gifts at our house. Then went back to the inlaws and enjoyed dinner with them. Then we spent time with my family. It was a wonderful Christmas.

So I had Lily get her picture done with Santa on the 16th of November so we would not end up waiting in line forever. She wasnt sure what to think of him. She didnt smile,or laugh or cry. She just put on her serious face.

Dan went with his sister Michelle to cut down our tree, his parents tree and also my parents tree. I really need to go with him one of these years to do it.

So our week was spent at home. Since Lilyanne and I were feeling under the weather. Halloween Lilyanne did not even get to Grandma & Grandpas house to show off her costume. We will have to do that this next week. The good news is we are starting to feel better. First I want to share a picture of Dan and Lilyanne that I took before going to a wedding on October 24th. Last night we handed out candy and watched Charlotte's Web. Lilyanne was an adorable Ladybug.

Our trip to Portland,OR

Lilyanne and I are visiting my sister and her family in Portland,OR. We are having a wonderful time. I always enjoy it here when I come. Heather and I have even managed to make it to a quilt shop and squeeze in some sewing. Yesterday we made it a girls day and headed to Cannon Beach and Seaside the weather was perfect for soaking up some sun. Dan sent me a text telling me it was snowing at home.

Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park

I am having issues posting pictures but they will make it on here.

In August we went on vacation to Etes Park the 16th-23rd. We had a really good time thanks so much mom and dad wish you could have been there with us.

On Monday the 16th Michelle and I went on the ghost tour at The Stanley Hotel. We did not see any ghosts but had a fun time. While we were there Dan and Lilyanne walked around Lake Estes. Also we went and hiked around Bear Lake and Alberta Falls.

Day two Tuesday the 16th we went back to Rocky Mountain National Park and hiked to Nymph Lake, Dream Lake and Emerald lake. Also we checked out a couple of the visitor stations. Michelle went home after our hikes so Dan and I checked out Trailridge road.

Day three Wedneday 17th we had the day to oursleves. We filled that day with more hiking to Cub Lake, Sprague Lake and Lily Lake.Also Dan took us for a drive on Fall River Road which is a one lane dirt road up a mountain with awesome views.

Day four Thursday the 18th Dan,Lilyanne and I hike to Beirdstadt Lake which was two miles. Then we took a drive where we saw Bighorn Sheep. That afternoon Dan's brother and family came into town. Dan and I went out to dinner to while they watched Lilyanne.

Day five Dan,Chris and Luke went on some wilderness adventure tour. From what I hear they had a wonderful time. Julia,Adam,Lilyanne and I went down town Estes Park and checked out the shops. Lilyanne and I each bought a pair of socks that match. I will have to have Dan take a picture of us wearing them. That evening Chris and Julia went to dinner and we watched the boys.

Day six we went into Rocky Mountain National Park. We walked around bear lake and then had lunch at sprague lake. The kids had fun chasing the ducks around. Then we went on Fall River Road and Trailridge road.

On day seven we got up and packed to head home. Then we went to Estes Lake. We road on a pontoon boat. Lilyanne showed all kinds of moods on the boat happy,tired and also crying. The poor girl the life jacket about swollowed her. When we got to Boulder we had lunch with our friend Lisa. We were so glad to be home but really enjoyed our vacation.

Spending Time with Friends & Some Tummy Time

So today we spent some time with Kim, Joanna and Leah (Kim's niece). Kim's daughter is 8 1/2 hours older than Lilyanne and the girls were even born at the same hospital. Today was the first time we have layed them next to each other. It was neat to see how different they are. The girls are so adorable so here are some pictures. We also went shopping at Extreme Bargains and Hobby Lobby.

Lilyanne has recently found her fist and fingers. She is more interested in them then playing while on her tummy or her swing.

Let Play Catch Up

July 4th
We went on a short hike around Garden of the Gods. It was a rainey day. But that evening we did get to light fireworks at Chris and Julia's house since the dont live in the county. The weather was cool so Lilyanne got to hang out in the garage all bundled up.

July 6th just hanging out at home.

July 16th we went to the zoo with Paula,Lexi ,and Carissa.

July 18th before heading to some garage sales.

July 19th she was taking a Sunday nap in her crib with her lamb while sporting a Bum Genius cloth diaper. But I caught some moments of her waking up.

Lilyanne's Blessing

She was blessed on June 14th My husband gave her a wonderful blessing. In the blessing circle was Dan,Chris Jutras,my fatherinlaw,Joe Hinson and Brian Claudy. My parents also came to our ward to be there. Later that evening we had a BBQ at our home. Lilyanne did not cry during it at all but she did cry a few minutes after it was over.

We got some pictures outside of the Church. The other day I took pictures of her in the blessing dress since we didnt get any just of her. Lilyanne's dress is the dress that I wore,my sister wore and my neice wore during our blessings.

Sorry it took so long for me to finally post this.

On Wednesday April 29th I went into my doctors appointment. I was told that I was 4 cm dialted and 90% effaced. I was feeling great and not having any labor signs. For some reason after my appointment that day my contractions started coming but were far apart.

Then my due date April 30th I decided to play it safe and hang out at home. I was so bored being stuck at home. Just waiting for our sweet little girl to make her arrival. When Dan got home from work we went to the mall and took a stroll around it.

Friday I could not just hang out at home. So I went to garage sales. My friend Charlotte and her mom were going. So I just followed them place to place. The kept an eye on me and could call Dan if it was time to have the baby. Really it was nice getting out of the house and looking for deals.

On Saturday night I layed down at 9:00 and by 11:00 the contractions were getting closer together. So we decided that it was time to get ready to goto the hospital. When we went we thought that I would probaly end up going back home. Well at about 11:30 we got to triage. They hooked me up to monitor my contractions and listen to her heart beat. I was only 4 1/2 cm dialted. They had me get up and walk around the hospital. Which didn't work for me I was in so much pain. They admited me into the hospital and gave Dr. Kort a call since Dr. Trujillo was off and they told me that they couldn't get a hold of him. I tried taking a bath to help me relax. Well it didn't help at all. Then I got hooked up to the IV which took forever to drain. I was in pain and wanted the epidural. Once I got it I was relaxed. The nurse was like "your having a contraction right now." I honestly didn't even know it. I was checked and was 6 cm dialted. The nurse came back awhile later and I was 9 3/4 cm dialted. That meant it was show time. We did some practice pushes. Then Dr. Kort came in and instructed me on what to do. After about 30 min or so of pushing Lilyanne Nicole entered this world on Sunday May 3,2009 at 4:21 am.

She is truely a little miracle. Holding her in my arms for the first time was such a wonderful moment. Also looking over at my husband and seeing how he took the moment in. I love being a mom!

36 Weeks and 6 Days

Wow we are already into the month of April. Sunday we had the opportunity to take the hospital tour. It was nice so we know where to go when this baby girl plans on making her arrival. Also nice to see what the rooms look like and really learn of somethings of what to expect. Things are right on schedule. Today she measured 36 inches and her heartbeat was 160 bpm. I am feeling good and some days I get stuff done and some I don't. I put my guess at April 14th of when she will be born. I am thinking she will be here closer to her due date or even after. But who knows she really could come any day now. We are excited and cant't wait to meet her. My inlaws are calling her Nickalina Daniella. Wonder if it will fit her. Just kidding!

I also have some wonderful news in the braces deparment. I am supposed to get them off next Tuesday the 14th. See I knew the 14th of April was going to be a great day for me. I had them put on August 22,2007. I am so happy to see my brand new smile. They have been a pain but so worth it on so many levels. I will have to post some before and after pictures.

So my sister finished up baby girls quilt. I absolutely love it. I am crossing my fingers that I get it in the mail sometime this week. My niece Jessie keeps stealing it and was even caught sleeping with it.

Looking Good

So yesterday I went to the doctor. Little baby girl is about 3 lbs right now. She is the right length for her due date. Also I am gainging weight at the right pace. So my pregnancy is going very smooth. Her heart beat was 170 beats per minute. I can't believe I am 31 weeks pregnant really she will be here before we know it.

So my sister Heather is making the bedding. It is turning out beautiful. I think we did a great job picking out the fabric. I love it! Thanks so much Heather. I can't wait to see it in person and put it in the nursery.

I am now 27 weeks. Time actually has been flying by. Our little girl is most active when I am trying to sleep at night. We are eventually going to take more maternity photos. Once I get some good ideas online. We have not decided on a name yet. But have some ideas.

Well 2008 was good to us. Lets see what 2009 brings. We are excited to know that this year we are finally going to be parents and look forward to all that goes along with that. Also looking forwards for my sister to come out and visit.

We had a wonderful Christmas eve. My parents came over and we had a Chili dinner and we read the Christmas Story. What are everyone's Christmas traditions? Then on Christmas we went to Dan's and watched them open presents. In the gift exchange my mother inlaw had me. She bought the softest blanket and sheep for me and the baby. Also she bought my faveorite gift which was a stethoscope. We love it because its so nice to be able to hear the baby's heartbeat whenever we want. Dan's brother Tim is on his mission in Austria/Germany. It was nice to be able to talk to him on the phone. Then we came home and opened gifts. Later we went over to my parents house to enjoy dinner. Over all we had a wonderful Christmas.

Its Been Four Years

Wow where does the time go. Today Dan and I celebrate our 4th Wedding Anniversary. The weather today is sunny and not snowing just like it was on our Wedding Day. You would think the middle of December in Colorado that the snow would be falling.I love you Dan thanks for being so good to me!

A baby girl!! The ultrasound was done on Wednesday the 3rd. We are so excited. She is doing well and is the right size for my due date. She measured at 18 weeks and 6 days. It was so cool to see how much our princess has grown since the last ultrasound. Her heartbeat was 140 BPM. I will have to post the ultrasound pictures when I get back from visting my sister in Portland,OR. As far as names go I hope we can agree on one by the time she gets here.

Pink or Blue?

So our next ultrasound is coming up on Wednesday. I am so excited we should get to find out the gender of the baby. I say its a boy and Dan says its a girl. Wonder who is going to be right. What is your guess? Well my clothing is starting to get tight and not fit right. I suppose soon I will need to start looking for maternity clothing. I haven't felt any kicks yet but if I gently press on the baby I feel it pressing back. Dan also has felt the baby respond back. All and all I have had a wonderful pregnancy.

Great News

Dan and I are so excited to share our news that we are finally expecting baby #1. On August 18th we got a postive Home Pregnancy test. This has been a long journey waiting for this to happen. We had been trying to concieve our little miracle for over two years. I am thankful for those who have kept us in your thoughts and prayers. Also for the wonderful doctors. Infertility is rough thing. But I have stayed positive through hard times because everything happens for a reason. Back to our good news.
Our first ultrasound was on October 1st. It was so cool to see the baby move. The doctor called our baby a squirmer. The 2nd appointment was on October 29th. We heard the babys heart beat which was 170 beats per minute. These appointments really made things real that we are finally going to be parents. I am due April 30th 2009. I am 16 weeks along. I lucked out and didn't have that bad of morning sickness.

We have already started getting the nursery together. Dan has painted the walls a light green. We have already bought,a crib,mattress and rocking chair. The rocking chair is from an unfinished furniture store and Dan is going to finish it. Also he is refinishing a dresser that my parents gave us. I am going to buy fabric and my sister is going to either help or make the bedding for me.

Our next ultrasound is going to be on December 3rd. We should find out the sex of the baby. I am saying its going to be a Boy and Dan says were having a Girl! Guess we will see. Really we just want a healthy baby!
